Parish Restaurant & Bar
About This Spot
Stepping into Parish Restaurant & Bar feels like entering a quietly confident neighborhood gem, where time slows just enough to savor the small luxuries of shared meals and thoughtful service. Painted in warm tones and with a relaxed yet polished vibe, it strikes a perfect balance between familiarity and a touch of elevated charm—you can feel the care in every detail without any sense of pretense.
The atmosphere invites lingerers, whether you’re unwinding after a long day or marking a special occasion with close friends. The pace is unhurried, encouraging conversations over carefully crafted cocktails or a glass of wine from their thoughtfully curated selection. Bartenders and staff treat you like an old friend, steering you toward unexpected flavor combinations that feel like discoveries rather than crowd-pleasers.
Here, the menu reads like a seasonally inspired journey rather than a checklist—duck arrives tender and rich, oysters shimmer fresh from the half shell, and each plate hums with layers of texture and thoughtful seasoning. There’s a natural honesty in their approach, where familiar Southern influences meet surprising, global twists. From house-made pasta adorned with lush ragus to inventive takes on local favorites like crawfish pies, the food invites you to pause and savor each bite with a sense of quiet delight.
It’s not just about what’s on the plate but the way Parish pulls people together around it. Whether it’s a perfectly balanced Manhattan shared at the bar or the comfort of a lemon meringue pie finished with a splash of strawberry sorbet, every moment feels gently curated to celebrate good flavors and the human connections they inspire.
For those new to Monroe or locals who have yet to find this spot, Parish offers an experience that feels both rooted and rare—a thoughtful neighborhood table with an openness to surprise and warmth that makes every visit feel like coming home.

Visiting from out of town and already been to Parish twice in a week. Love the freshness of ingredients and how often the menu changes. The kale + collard caesar salad is one I will dream of and look forward to coming back for whenever I'm in northern LA. The miso deviled eggs were delicious although a bit salty. The Alaskan halibut with whipped celery root was DIVINE. The spice crusted seared tuna dish was an interesting dish - great fish quality. Unfortunately, the tiramisu donut concoction that was recommended by chef was far from my favorite and a disappointing end note to an otherwise amazing meal. The donut is extremely bready - not fresh fried - and the espresso + coffee ice cream was lacking flavor. Calling this dish "tiramisu" is misleading as it doesn't really taste tiramisu forward. I love ingenuity in food, but at the end of the day, it's gotta taste good and be craveable, which it's not. And i shared the dish with my neighbor at the bar who also didnt love it. Sometimes these things are a miss, and that's okay too! Wondering if I can fit in one more night before I leave just to get dessert redemption

This place is excellent! Everything is top notch. You are treated like a guest of honor from the time you walk in the door until you leave. Food is so fresh. And the menu offers more choices than you can imagine. I would venture to say this is the best restaurant in the Monroe area. Stop by & let the team at Parish please your pallette!

Had a great dining experience at The Parrish. To start the service was excellent, Dillion was outstanding, very knowledgeable about the drinks and menu and made some great suggestions. Bartenders made excellent DIRTY Martinis. We started off with Hearth Baked Sweet Potato Bread & Duck Wraps in a syrup glaze both were delicious. Wine selection was plentiful and wide variety. Main course for us ranged from Pan Roasted Tasmania Salmon with sweet pea risotto. Which my Dad said was excellent. my Mother had the Louisiana Shrimp & Smoked Tasso Scampi. The pasta was homemade and delightful. We shared the Berkshire Pork Shank and gravy. It was more than enough for two people. We finished the night off with Bread Pudding with a bread pudding connoisseur at the table, said it was the best she ever had. The only negative thing I can say is it was a little noise but might have just been our location and how busy they were. Which is great to see on a Tuesday night. Thank you for a great dining experience we will be back when back in Monroe.

Here’s a polished, friendly, and appreciative review based on everything you wrote — still in your voice, but cleaned up and smooth: ⸻ We left a wedding next door at The Hub close to 10 p.m. and were craving oysters, so we looked up Parish to see what time they closed. Google said 11, but when we walked up, the girl at the front let us know they actually closed at 10. We told her no problem, we had only planned to grab a quick drink and some oysters, but it wasn’t a big deal. As we were walking off, she actually came back out and asked where we saw the 11 p.m. time. I showed her, and she said, “Give me just a second.” She went inside, came back out, and told us that if we didn’t need anything from the kitchen, they could squeeze us in for a drink and some oysters at a table by the fire outside. I was hesitant because I know how it is working in the restaurant industry and wanting to close up, but she reassured us that it was fine, it was only 10 and they’d be there closing up anyway. So we sat by the fire, had the BEST oysters, a vodka water, and a beer. The brought the goods, I told them to bring ticket and we would go ahead close our while we eat. We were there maybe 17 minutes and tried to be as respectful as possible because I know the team was probably low-key thinking “WTH,” which honestly I would have too. But the staff was amazing, friendly, accommodating, and professional. It ended up being the perfect treat after a long wedding. Thank you for having such a great spot and training your team so well. Parish is truly the most best and consistent place in town! One of those things where they could’ve just turned us away but they made it work when they didn’t have to!

Best restaurant in the state!! The chef is a genius with flavors and texture. One bite of their food will leave you wondering if God Himself put Heaven on your plate. Impeccable food and amazing service, all hidden away in Monroe. It’s worth a trip to Louisiana to try this restaurant! I flew in from California a few years ago and this restaurant was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend trying it!

Food was amazing! I had the night special soft shell crab I believe it was called and my husband had the steak with truffle fries. Everything tasted amazing
